Kathleen Matthews Wants You

Well, one of you, anyway, preferably an experienced, jaded yet bubbly and enthusiastic person with math skills, the ability to motivate and manage hordes of canvassers, plus the ability to make sense out of tons and tons (and tons) of VAN data. Oh, and the ability to stay awake from now until April. ‘Cause field directors are not allowed to sleep until after Election Day.

Kathleen Matthews for Congress (MD-08) is seeking an experienced Field Director for the 2016 election. The Field Director will work in collaboration with campaign leadership to craft and execute a data driven grassroots focused field plan.

The Field Director will report to the Campaign Manager and will be based in Bethesda, MD.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversight of all components of the field program with an emphasis on volunteer recruitment and engagement

Building and executing a robust field internship program

Working with the campaign manager to develop the field plan

Overseeing the hiring and training of field organizers

Tracking progress and identifying adjustments to meet and exceed goals

Creating a professional and fun work environment

Managing the data program to ensure that data is being collected and effectively monitored

Leading trainings of field staff, interns and volunteers

Implementing an effective reporting and tracking system

Qualifications

At least two cycles of paid campaign experience

Previous experience managing a field program as a Field Director or a Regional Field Director

Previous experience hiring and training field staff

Ability to work weekends and long hours

Familiarity with VAN

Applicants must be highly organized and thrive in a fast-paced campaign environment

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!

An ancient philosopher never said “From scramble comes great opportunity.” But someone should have said it. And now I just did. Campaign jobs!

An unnamed mayoral candidate (Sheila Dixon is the only candidate who has formally stepped into the the race against Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, but it could well be someone else) is hiring field organizers. I’ll expect a 10% commission if you click the link and get a job.

Van Hollen ISO FOs

This just came across my Google Alert for all you job seekers out there. Looks like somebody has some money to spend.

The Van Hollen for Senate campaign is hiring Field Organizers for the 2016 primary election. Field Organizers are responsible for recruiting, training and managing regional volunteer teams, coordinating phone banks and canvasses and organizing local grassroots trainings. The chosen candidates will be directly responsible for delivering the margin of victory in their region.
