MCGEO Attacks Barkley For Legal Campaign Contributions

MCGEO President Gino Renne is a lightning rod. Love him or hate him (some manage to feel both emotions at the same time), he doesn’t mince words, he pulls no punches, and he only knows one speed – 200 miles an hour into a wall. Nobody works harder or cares more about his union members than Gino. He never backs… Read more »

Want To #ThankALegislator?

Here’s a nice, easy way to say “thanks” to the MoCo House delegation for unanimously voting to override Larry Hogan’s veto of the Clean Energy Jobs Act – a petition set up by the new leadership of the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee (MCDCC). Guest Blog: Ben Shnider On The $15 Minimum Wage

Ben Shnider is the national political director for J Street, a Board member of Action Committee for Transit, and a commissioner on the Rockville Human Rights Commission. I’m tired just typing all the stuff he does.  This has been a rough week for progressives, both nationally and in Montgomery County. Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett on Monday vetoed legislation that would have made the wealthy jurisdiction the first in Maryland to require a $15 minimum wage. Leggett (D) said boosting the wage to the level embraced by national progressive activists, including former Democratic… Read more »

As everyone knows, 2018 is going to be a year of massive upheaval in Rockville. Three term incumbent County Executive Ike Leggett and four members of the County Council (Roger Berliner, Marc Elrich, Nancy Floreen, and George Leventhal) are all term limited, and another Councilmember (Craig Rice) is looking to run for executive as well. Speculation is so rampant about… Read more »

If you’ve got an opinion (on this or other subjects), send it to me at jonathan… Read more »
