Hot takes (apologies to the Posties, mine are better):
Still reeling over the fact that the candidate I voted for was delivering an acceptance and not a concession speech. 53 years was a long time to wait. I like how this feels.
The speech: I liked it. Nothing extraordinary, but I really liked the fact that she let a lot of emotion come through early on. She was genuinely choked up and it showed. I’d call it “authenticity” but that’s a stupid overused word that is used to pummel people we don’t like.
She got off some good lines on Trump, and overall she seemed transparently happy to simply be delivering the speech. If she’s this relaxed and happy going forward, she’s in great shape.
Question: how long until trump unloads on all the abuse he’s taken this week? In his mind, he can’t, he must not, he will not let this series of indignities pass unanswered. But who to answer first? Hillary? Barack Obama? Michelle? Biden? Kaine? Warren? Too many guns firing, his head must be reeling. Look for a meltdown happening soon.
