For almost a year, we (by which I mean “I”) waited patiently for Elijah Cummings to make his decision about whether to run for Senate. It was, to be polite, a painstaking process for me, and oh, yeah, probably for him too.
Now we’re waiting, per the Post, for the gentleman from Maryland to make up his mind on an endorsement of one of his two Hoise colleagues.
U.S. Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, a deeply popular Democrat from Baltimore, said Thursday that he has not decided whether to endorse either candidate in the tightly contested Senate race to fill the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D).
Cummings said he will make a decision soon in the heated battle between Reps. Donna F. Edwards and Chris Van Hollen.
“I’ll make a decision as to what I’m going to do,” Cummings said. “I’m not sure whether I will get involved at all.”
An endorsement from the 10-term congressman would be major coup for both candidates, who are from the Washington suburbs and need a strong showing in Baltimore.
Where’s Lucy with the football? I thought we were done for this campaign season, but now I think we need her back.
