Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Backs Joseline
Union Calls Joseline Passionate Advocate for Labor
Today state Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk received a key endorsement in her campaign for Congress from the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 486. The Plumbers and Steamfitters are dedicated to providing opportunity in the pipefitting trades; the union represents 2,100 members in the area.
“I am proud to have the support of the Plumbers and Steamfitters. They provide training for our workers to get good jobs and opportunities for working families to get ahead. I am running for Congress to fight for working families and I am honored to stand with the Plumbers and Steamfitters” said Peña-Melnyk.
William L. Welsh, the union’s Business Manager said, “The United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 486 is proud to stand with Joseline Peña-Melnyk for Congress. Joseline has a history of being a strong voice and a passionate advocate for labor. We are certain she will do the same in Washington.”
Joseline Peña-Melnyk is running the strongest campaign in Maryland’s 4th Congressional District to replace Donna Edwards. The Washington Post praised Joseline’s “energy, grit and determination” in their March 12th endorsement. She has received the most endorsements from labor unions, and her campaign has been endorsed by EMILY’s List, CHC Bold PAC, the Sierra Club, the PCCC, Democracy for America, over 30 local leaders as well as the National Women’s Political Caucus and the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
