CD4 candidate Glenn Ivey announced five new endorsements in Anne Arundel County, reports the Capital Gazette.

Five of Anne Arundel County’s current and former elected officials on Thursday endorsed Glenn Ivey, the former Prince George’s County State’s Attorney who is running for Congress.

State Sen. John Astle, D-Annapolis, former County Executive Janet Owens, former Anne Arundel County Councilman Jamie Benoit, D-Crownsville, former Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen and Patrick Armstrong, who lost to Republican Michael Peroutka in the 2014 race for the County Council’s fifth district, said they’re supporting Ivey in his campaign to succeed Rep. Donna Edwards. Edwards, who has been in office since 2008, is running to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski.
