Right now all eyes are on the state of Michigan. It is a state Bernie Sanders is looking to change the dynamic of the race and where John Kasich is looking to build some momentum heading into his home state of Ohio next week.
Sanders is up by 5% in the early going, but there is little to no voting reports coming from Detroit or Flint, where Clinton is expected to do well with the heavily African American population there. But it looks like it may in fact be closer than the polls indicated it would be.
On the Republican side, Donald Trump is currently ahead in Oakland County. It is one of Michigan’s wealthiest and highly educated counties. The fact he is running ahead there bodes well for him in the rest of the state since this is an area where Kasich should do well.
